CCN, Cilegon: Vice Chairman of MPR RI, Yandri Susanto, Visits MAN 1 Cilegon in Lebak Denok, Citangkil District, Cilegon City, Banten. His presence was warmly welcomed by teachers and students, akin to the reception when celebrities meet their fans.
The reception of this young politician and the youngest Deputy Chairman of MPR RI was conducted with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with the ceremonial presentation of a headscarf by the Head of MAN 1 Cilegon, Hj. Maryati. Yandri Susanto engaged in friendly interactions with teachers and students, even posing for photos, fostering a sense of camaraderie and family.
His warmth made both students and teachers extend a warm and festive welcome, as if a celebrity were visiting their ardent fans. Accompanied by traditional music from the gamelan and the music team from Sanggar Seni Banyu Biru MAN 1 Cilegon, Yandri exchanged greetings with students and the school’s faculty.
“I am very pleased and appreciate the warm reception from those who have accepted me as their guest,” said Yandri Susanto, Deputy Chairman of MPR RI from the PAN faction.
Accompanying Yandri during his visit were Lukmanul Hakim, Head of the Department of Religious Affairs in Cilegon City, H. Abu Nasor, the Head of the Secretariat, H. Munirudin, Head of the Education Division of Madrasah in Cilegon City, and Hikmatullah, Head of Lebak Denok Village.
The event began with a communal Friday prayer led by Yandri Susanto at the At-Tarbiyah Mosque of MAN 1 Cilegon, followed by a national unity gathering in the Aula of MAN 1 Cilegon.
In his speech, Yandri Susanto praised the achievements of the students at MAN 1 Cilegon, particularly in the field of arts. He also emphasized the significance of national unity.
“I came here to motivate the students, and I hope that schools within the Ministry of Religious Affairs can nurture the best sons and daughters of the nation, as seen in their artistic achievements. I also express my appreciation by presenting awards,” said Yandri, a politician from the National Mandate Party (PAN), to journalists on Friday, August 25, 2023.
He also stated that the students of MAN 1 Cilegon are highly talented and capable of providing the best for their school. Yandri expressed his hope that in the future, the students of this madrasah would further advance the nation’s cause.
“May MAN 1 Cilegon continue to produce its finest sons and daughters to lead our nation further,” he added.
Hj. Maryati, Head of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Kota Cilegon, explained, “Initially, Yandri was scheduled to visit on October 25, coinciding with the school’s anniversary, and he was also going to launch a book authored by students and the head of the madrasah. However, Yandri’s visit came earlier on August 25, a Friday. Despite the limited number of invited guests due to the overlap with Friday prayers, we believe everything happens with the permission of Allah.”
Mita, an integrative student at UIN SMH Banten, also expressed her joy, saying, “Alhamdulillah, this event allowed us to establish direct connections with the Vice Chairman of the MPR and take photos with him.”
