CCN, CILEGON – The Mayor of Cilegon Helldy Agustian has once again received a national-level award. This time, it comes from the Directorate General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
The award presentation was delivered by the Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, M. Ali Ramdani, at Harris Hotel & Residences Sunset Road, Denpasar, Bali, on Saturday night, December 2rd, 2023. Representing the City Government of Cilegon, the Head of the Department of Education and Culture (Dindikbud) of Cilegon, Heni Anita Susila.
According to Heni, the appreciation in the form of an award from the Ministry of Religious Affairs is given for the participation and contribution of the City Government of Cilegon in the Professional Teacher Education (PTE) program for Islamic Religious Education (IRE).
“In the fiscal year 2022, we assisted in financing professional education for 163 IRE teachers. Ideally, this is the responsibility of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, but waiting for their budget takes time because they are a vertical institution with centralized funding. That’s why we assist through service procurement expenses,” said Heni, as reported by Diskominfo Kota Cilegon on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023.
Heni explained that PTE is one of the requirements to qualify for teacher certification allowances, so it is hoped that IRE teachers in Cilegon who have been facilitated to participate in PTE can proceed to the next stage, namely the certification process.
“We collaborated on this PTE program with UIN SMH (State Islamic University Sultan Maulana Hasanudin) Banten. Unfortunately, in this year (2023), we couldn’t allocate a budget, but God willing, in 2024, we will allocate it with the same amount as in 2022,” Heni added.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Cilegon Helldy Agustian expressed gratitude for receiving recognition from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This is a form of appreciation and acknowledgment that the programs implemented are beneficial for the people of Cilegon, especially the IRE teachers.
“Thank you, Mrs. Heni, and colleagues from the Department of Education who have worked together for the welfare of the community. Hopefully, what we do continues to bring benefits to the people of Cilegon,” he said.
Helldy hopes that more IRE teachers in Cilegon can receive PTE as one of the requirements to qualify for certification allowances.
“When certified, the well-being of teachers will certainly improve because without participating in PTE, certification cannot be obtained. God willing, please pray, hopefully, in 2024, we will allocate again so that more IRE teachers can participate in PTE,” he added.
It is known that besides Cilegon, the Ministry of Religious Affairs also awarded four other areas in Indonesia, namely Banjarmasin City (South Kalimantan), Bandung City (West Java), Semarang Regency (Central Java), and Berau Regency (East Kalimantan). (DISKOMINFO)
