CCN, CILEGON – The Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Cilegon City expressed their appreciation to the Cilegon Police personnel, particularly the Narcotics Unit and Traffic Unit of the Cilegon Police, for successfully thwarting the distribution of 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at Merak Port Executive Pier 06 on Friday (July 12, 2024).
Ayatullah, Deputy Chairman of the Information and Communication Division of DPD KNPI Cilegon City, stated that the success of the Cilegon Police in thwarting the drug distribution has saved 312,000 young people from the adverse effects of drugs.
“KNPI Cilegon appreciates the success of the Cilegon Police in thwarting the crime of distributing crystal methamphetamine. This is certainly an achievement that must be appreciated as proof that we are all united in fighting and combating drugs. As a city that serves as a transit link between Java and Sumatra, Cilegon is vulnerable and requires collaboration from all parties to eradicate all forms of crime,” said Kang Ayat, Wednesday (July 17, 2024).
Kang Ayat added that the occurrence of drug distribution crimes is due to the demand from users, the majority of whom are from the younger generation. Therefore, he called on the entire community, especially parents or families, to increase vigilance and supervise the activities of children both inside and outside the home to prevent the younger generation from falling under the influence of drugs.
“The role of parents is very important as the main barrier in preventing children or young people from the grip of drugs. So, be a good example, establish more intensive communication, and spend more time with children to provide direction and understanding appropriate to their age. Continuously sharpen our knowledge and awareness as parents. Religious understanding should also be instilled in young people from an early age,” he emphasized. (Red)
