CCN, Banten – The 2024 National Madrasah Science Competition (KSM) is set to officially take place in early September in Ternate, North Maluku. This prestigious annual event brings together the best madrasah students from across Indonesia to compete in various scientific disciplines.
KSM 2024 in Ternate will see the participation of hundreds of students from various madrasahs across the country. The competition is divided into two main categories: the individual category, which covers two subjects for the MI level, three subjects for the MTS level, and six subjects for the MA level; and the team category, with competition material encompassing integrated IPA (Natural Sciences) and IPS (Social Sciences). In the team category, Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Cilegon will represent Banten.**
Hj. Maryati, the Principal of MAN 1 Kota Cilegon, expressed her pride in having their students selected to participate in this national-level competition. “We are very proud that some of our students can take part in KSM 2024. This is the result of hard work, dedication, and consistent guidance from all the educators and staff at MAN 1 Kota Cilegon, the Cilegon City Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Banten Province,” said Hj. Maryati in an interview on Sunday (1/9).
Furthermore, Hj. Maryati explained that these students have undergone intensive preparation, including special training from their mentor teachers. “We hope our students can perform their best and bring home prestigious achievements. We also call on the entire madrasah community to pray for and fully support them,” she added.
The National Madrasah Science Competition not only serves as a showcase of academic prowess but also as a means to enhance students’ enthusiasm for learning, strengthen the bonds between madrasahs, and advance madrasah education in Indonesia.
The Grand Final of the National Madrasah Science Competition (KSM) and the announcement of the results for KSM 2024 will be made on September 6. MAN 1 Kota Cilegon hopes to bring home a glorious achievement that will make Banten proud on the national stage. “Regardless of the outcome, we are already proud of the efforts of our students. This is an excellent first step for their future,” Hj. Maryati concluded with optimism.
Elsewhere, Dian Wahyuni, the Mathematics instructor and Olympiad coach, stated, “As a mentor, I can only hope and ask for everyone’s blessings so that the children can deliver the best results for Banten. However, regardless of the results, we have done our utmost. The children receive guidance every day, both at school and outside of school. During the city and provincial levels of KSM, we had a specific strategy: if the answer was certain, it should be filled in; if not, it should be left blank, because wrong answers would result in a penalty. However, for the national final, we have changed our strategy—every question must be answered. The questions at the national level are in the form of short answers and essays, where incorrect answers do not result in penalties.” (Ahdi)
