CCN, Cilegon, September 4, 2024 — PT Krakatau Posco once again demonstrates its commitment to community empowerment through the organization of soft skill training and development activities for students at SMK YP Fatahillah 1 Cilegon. This program was officially launched today in a ceremony held on the campus of SMK YP Fatahillah 1 Cilegon.

Andri, General Manager of the Human Resource Department at PT Krakatau Posco, in his speech, highlighted the significant differences between human resources (HR) in Indonesia and Korea, particularly in terms of discipline, work ethic, and attitude. “Our company’s major investors are Koreans, and several times we’ve discussed the differences in HR development between Indonesia and Korea. It turns out that weak discipline and small habits, like waste management, have a considerable impact. Koreans see Indonesia as being similar to Korea 20 years ago,” Andri remarked.

Furthermore, Andri stated that this activity is part of the company’s contribution to community empowerment. PT Krakatau Posco takes pride in organizing this program, which aims to help improve the quality of human resources in Cilegon, making SMK students more prepared to face the industrial world.

The event was also attended by supervisors from the Banten Provincial Department of Education and Culture, as well as the Chairman of the YP Fatahillah 1 Cilegon Foundation, both of whom expressed high appreciation for PT Krakatau Posco’s initiative. Anto, representing the Banten Provincial Department of Education and Culture, expressed his gratitude. “We extend our thanks to PT Krakatau Posco because this program is greatly needed by our students, as part of realizing the Link & Match education program, where school education must be able to align with the needs of industry or the working world,” he explained.

Bambang Kusuma, Chairman of the YP Fatahillah 1 Cilegon Foundation, also expressed his gratitude. “This program is very much needed by our students. One of the main goals of their three years of schooling is to be able to enter the workforce directly. Understanding and mastering the needs of the work environment is crucial for them,” said Bambang. He also hopes that similar programs can be implemented at other vocational schools (SMKs) in Cilegon to ensure a comprehensive improvement in the quality of human resources in the city. “Our hope is that this can be implemented in all schools so that the quality of human resources in Cilegon can be evenly improved. This way, graduates will be ready for employment, and unemployment in Cilegon will decrease,” Bambang concluded.

This soft skill training program is expected to have a significant positive impact on the students, equipping them with the necessary skills to succeed in the industrial world. PT Krakatau Posco continues to play a strategic role as a partner in the development of local human resources.
