CCN, Cilegon — A number of ambulance drivers from various health institutions across Cilegon City gathered for a community bonding event titled Pilot Ambulans Puskesmas Cilegon, held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the 119 Cilegon post.
This event was initiated by ambulance drivers from nine Puskesmas (community health centers) across Cilegon. The aim was to strengthen ties, foster solidarity, and build synergy with fellow ambulance drivers, including those from outside the region.
Representatives from various communities and institutions attended the event, including PUMA (Paguyuban Unit Mobil Ambulans), RAI (Relawan Ambulans Indonesia), RSKM (Krakatau Medika Hospital), and the Cilegon Health Department (Dinkes). The atmosphere was warm and friendly, concluding with a shared lunch.
In his speech, Rudi, the head of PAC PUMA Cilegon, emphasized the importance of inter-community collaboration among ambulance units, especially in referring patients outside of Cilegon.
“PUMA is more than just an ordinary community. We help each other—whether it’s about oxygen, finding an ambulance, a coffin, or even ferry tickets for patient evacuation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Beben, a representative from RAI, also stressed the importance of having an ambulance community.
“Communities like this are essential to improve coordination, share field information, and provide mutual aid in emergency situations,” he noted.
Deni, a representative from Pilot Ambulans Puskesmas Cilegon, expressed his appreciation for the attendance and support from various parties. He hoped that gatherings like this could be held regularly.
The event was also attended by Mr. Husnan, one of the senior ambulance drivers in Cilegon. He shared his hope that the spirit of unity and solidarity among ambulance drivers would be maintained and passed on to the next generation. He also thanked 119 Cilegon for providing the venue for the gathering.
This gathering marked an important moment to strengthen networks among ambulance drivers, foster synergy, and prepare a more robust collaboration system for medical referrals and emergency assistance across regions. Moving forward, the drivers hope that such initiatives can become a regular agenda to ensure faster and more humane healthcare services. (***)
