CCN, Cilegon, Indonesia – 3 January 2026, KAISAR (Kawan Robinsar), a community-based organisation, has provided emergency food assistance to residents affected by flooding in Cilegon, Banten Province, through the distribution of essential supplies to the Cibeber Community Kitchen.
The assistance, delivered on Saturday, 3 January 2026, included key food items such as rice, eggs, and cooking oil, aimed at supporting the continued operation of the community kitchen in meeting the immediate nutritional needs of flood-affected households.
According to Roni, Chairperson of KAISAR, the intervention reflects a commitment to solidarity and collective responsibility during emergencies.
“Following an assessment of the community kitchen’s needs and operational capacity, we prioritised the procurement of essential food supplies to ensure uninterrupted meal distribution. This response represents our commitment to humanitarian solidarity during the flood emergency,” he said.
Roni emphasised that flooding should be viewed not only as a natural hazard, but also as a test of social cohesion.
“Community kitchens play a critical role in emergency response, and our objective is to ensure they receive adequate support to continue serving affected residents,” he added.
The Cibeber Community Kitchen, located in the parking area of Perumda CM, serves as a central hub for food preparation, information sharing, and logistics coordination for flood response efforts across Cilegon. The facility supports residents who have been displaced or who face limited access to food due to inundation in residential areas.
Originally planned as a multi-site distribution, KAISAR adjusted its approach following coordination with field officers, who confirmed that relief operations had been centralised in Cibeber to enhance efficiency and coordination among volunteer groups.
In addition to food supplies, KAISAR also contributed one goat, purchased through internally mobilised donations, to support communal food provision for affected communities.
KAISAR has called on the wider public, civil society organisations, and local stakeholders to participate in ongoing humanitarian efforts through donations, volunteer support, and collective action. The organisation highlighted that effective disaster response depends on collaboration between communities, volunteers, and broader society.
Donations to support KAISAR’s flood response activities can be made via Bank Mandiri account number 1630002666066, under the name Arifin Sudarmawan.
The KAISAR Flood Response Initiative aims to alleviate the immediate burden faced by flood-affected residents while reinforcing community resilience and solidarity in the face of recurrent disasters, particularly in Cilegon and surrounding areas.
This initiative is implemented in collaboration with multiple local partners, including the Forum Wartawan Kebudayaan (FORWARD) and Gen Cilegon, reflecting a cross-sectoral approach to community-based humanitarian response.
