CCN, Cilegon, – The 5th Grand Conference (Mubes V) of the Bandrong Banten Indonesia Martial Arts School officially appointed its new leadership board for the 2025–2030 term. In this solemn gathering, Asep Sofwatullah was elected as the Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) Bandrong, succeeding Syafrudin, who had completed his tenure.
In his remarks, the newly elected Chairman expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the trust bestowed upon him by the elders and members.
“This is not a personal victory, but a great mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility. We will preserve Bandrong not only as a martial art but also as a noble cultural heritage of Banten, rich in spiritual and fraternal values,” he stated.
He also highlighted three main priorities for the 2025–2030 leadership: organizational consolidation, regeneration of young cadres, and strengthening Bandrong’s position as a cultural heritage of Banten recognized nationally.
“We must involve more young people, for they are the true heirs of Bandrong. We will also strengthen inter-school networks and position Bandrong as a symbol of local wisdom that educates future generations of the nation,” he added.
He further emphasized his commitment to safeguarding unity, pointing out the current lack of leaders who can truly unite society.
“We want Bandrong to align with government programs at the national, provincial, and local levels. To the younger generation in Bandrong, warriors or jawara are often seen as fierce, known only for raising their machetes. But today, we must also be creative—not only in wielding a blade, but in uplifting the community’s economy, particularly in food security. We are a great nation; let us not perish in the land of abundance.”
At the same event, H. Joni, Chairman of the Mubes V Organizing Committee, offered his blessings along with a moral message, reminding the new leadership to uphold values of morality and religiosity.
“Bandrong martial art is a path of manners (adab), not merely a set of techniques. Leaders may change, but noble values must remain steadfast. God willing, with sincere intentions, the new leadership will bring greater blessings to Bandrong,” he conveyed.
