CCN, Cilegon – The Department of Youth, Sports, and Tourism (Disporapar) of Cilegon City is set to host the Grand Final of the 2024 Kang Nong Cilegon competition, a prestigious event aimed at promoting local tourism. The grand event will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 7:00 PM WIB at the Sarigaluh Restaurant, Cilegon.
Head of Tourism Division at Disporapar Cilegon City, Wawan Ihwani, expressed his hopes that the Kang Nong competition would serve as an important momentum in boosting the tourism sector in Cilegon City. “We hope that through this event, the selected finalists will become Tourism Ambassadors of Cilegon City, capable of promoting the tourism potential of our region both nationally and internationally,” said Wawan in a press release issued by the Cilegon City Communication and Information Office on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Wawan also emphasized that the Grand Final event is open to the public and encouraged all residents of Cilegon City to attend and show their support for the finalists. “Let’s come together to celebrate the Grand Final of the 2024 Kang Nong Competition. The support from the community means a lot to the finalists,” he added.
On the other hand, Vice Chairman of the Kang Nong Cilegon Association, Juherdi, promised an event that is packaged with an interesting concept involving various parties, from the government and community to sponsors. “The Grand Final will be the pinnacle of the 2024 Kang Nong Competition series, participated in by 20 finalists. We have prepared a variety of interesting programs, including performances from the 20 finalists, a Q&A session with the judges, and a showcase of traditional Cilegon costumes,” explained Juherdi.
The 2024 Kang Nong Cilegon Grand Final is expected to be an event that not only entertains but also strengthens the cultural identity and tourism potential of Cilegon City, with the winners serving as icons who will carry the city’s good name to broader platforms. (Ahdi)
