Cilegon Raises Rp 535 Million in Noble Solidarity for Palestine on National Teachers’ Day

CCN, CILEGON – In commemoration of the 78th National Teacher’s Day, the Department of Education and Culture in Cilegon successfully gathered a donation of IDR 535 million to support Palestine. The event took place at the Protocol Road of the Cilegon City Mayor’s Office on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

The occasion featured a solidarity movement for Palestine that successfully raised donations amounting to IDR 535,756,000. Key figures such as Mayor Helldy Agustian, Deputy Mayor Sanuji Pentamarta, Head of Cilegon DPRD Isro Mi’raj, Cilegon  Secretary Maman Mauludin, Assistant Secretary (Asda) I, II, and III of Cilegon, Head of Cilegon Department of Education and Culture Henny Anita Susila, Chairperson of PGRI Banten Province Muhtadi, Cilegon Dandim Lieutenant Colonel Inf Ari Widyo Prasetyo, and a representative from Cilegon  Police also participated in the event.

Mayor Helldy Agustian expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to the teachers who showed concern for the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine. “Thank you to the teachers who have given alms or contributions to our brothers and sisters in Palestine; may this add blessings to the 78th anniversary of PGRI,” he said.

Helldy hopes that the collected donations can alleviate the burden on our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Palestine, given the tense situation due to the attacks by Zionist Israel. Thousands of teachers from various regions in Cilegon attended the 2023 National Teacher’s Day and the 78th PGRI Anniversary organized by the Cilegon Department of Education and Culture.

“Today is a new history for all of us, in line with the celebration of National Teacher’s Day and the 78th PGRI Anniversary, we all support the solidarity action for Palestine as a form of humanitarian support,” said Helldy Agustian on Thursday, November 23, 2023. He expressed his gratitude to PGRI and teachers in Cilegon who have dedicated themselves sincerely.

“I am very grateful to the teachers in Cilegon because the Cilegon Government is currently focusing on the development of Human Resources (HR) through education,” he said. According to him, the welfare of teachers must be fulfilled to improve HR in Cilegon . “The infrastructure we are building is the welfare of teachers as an effort to improve HR towards Indonesia Emas and make the people of Cilegon intelligent,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Cilegon Department of Education and Culture, Heni Anita Susila, stated that the donation is a manifestation of solidarity, concern, and compassion of teachers for fellow human beings experiencing suffering in Palestine. “This is a form of solidarity from our teachers, educators, and education staff for our brothers and sisters in Palestine,” said Heni.

Heni explained that the collected donations will be distributed through Baznas Cilegon. Therefore, she invites everyone to unite in helping Palestine. “Our form of solidarity is by using attributes, and this donation will be given to Baznas Cilegon,” she explained.

The 2023 National Teacher’s Day and the 78th PGRI Anniversary also involved a humanitarian solidarity movement for Palestine. “Today is a celebration for all of us in celebrating the 2023 National Teacher’s Day and the 78th PGRI Anniversary. We also carry out a solidarity action for the people of Palestine as a form of humanitarian support.

Heni invites everyone to collectively advance the quality of education. “We also hope that access to education for the people of Cilegon City becomes more open and realized,” Heni said while conveying that the Cilegon City Department of Education and Culture, together with education stakeholders, will launch the ‘Sekole Maning Lurrr Movement’ to provide opportunities for children who have dropped out of school to resume education, both formal and non-formal.
