CCN, Cilegon – In a vibrant celebration of its rich Islamic heritage, Cilegon, renowned as the City of Islamic Scholars, hosted the Takbir Festival on Tuesday night, April 9, 2024. The event, organized by the Cilegon Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) in partnership with the Indonesian Art and Qasidah Institute (LASQI) of Banten, was a significant cultural milestone aimed at preserving the city’s deep-rooted Islamic values.
Chairman of the DPRD Cilegon, Isro Mi’raj, together with the Cilegon Chamber of Commerce (KADIN), spearheaded the festival that drew enthusiastic participation from across community layers. Twelve groups from eight districts of Cilegon competed, with a notable presence of young participants, highlighting the event’s appeal among the millennial generation.

He also voiced hopes for the festival to become an annual tradition, contributing continuously to the preservation of Cilegon’s identity as a scholarly city.
The festival, held on the night of Eid al-Fitr, successfully gathered hundreds at the main field of the DPRD, not only enhancing the celebratory atmosphere of the victory night but also cementing a partnership with LASQI Cilegon. Prizes worth millions of rupiahs were awarded, adding to the festive mood.
