Empowering Youth: UIN SMH BANTEN Integrative Students Join Forces with BNN Cilegon

CCN, Cilegon. Students of PLP Integrative UIN SMH BANTEN Collaborate with BNN Cilegon City in the Framework of Anti-Drug Socialization in MAN 1 Cilegon on Friday, 8 September 2023.

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is an Indonesian non-structural institution that reports directly to the President of the Republic of Indonesia. The National Narcotics Agency was established based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2002 (later replaced by Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2007).

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) team gave directions and lectures on the dangers of drug abuse in the Anti-Drug Socialization Forum, with the theme: “Realizing a Drug-Free Young Generation for the Future of the Nation” which took place on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Cilegon City.

This socialization event is one of the programs of PLP Integrative Student group 3 at MAN 1 Cilegon City. This activity began with the recitation of the holy verses of the Qur’an, singing the song Indonesia Raya and Mars BNN led by PLP UIN SMH Banten students. After that, it was continued with remarks from Sister Nizma Annajah as the Head of PLP as well as the Chief Executive of this Anti-Drug Socialization activity and continued with remarks from the Head of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Cilegon City, Hj Maryati, as well as opening this socialization event.

Furthermore, the Delivery of Material from Hendra Fitriyansyah, one of the BNN TEAM as a resource person who provided direction on the dangers of drug abuse to 118 participants consisting of class XII students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Cilegon City.

The enthusiasm of the grade 12 students in the discussion at this socialization event made the speakers even more enthusiastic to continue to provide prevention against drug abuse in Z generation at MAN 1 Cilegon City.

“Today’s Anti-Drug Socialization is very exciting, from those who initially only knew about the term drug. After this socialization we know better, it turns out that there are many types of drugs. So we can be introspective and try to avoid everything that smells of drugs.” Said Delawati, one of the 12th grade students of MAN 1 Cilegon City.

According to Ajraa Rysya Zakiyah, who is also one of the grade 12 students, also responded to this socialization event.

“The event is really cool, the speakers also always interact with the students so it doesn’t make boring. The material is also very useful for teenagers our age who are again labile.” She said.

Hendra Fitriyansyah, as the resource person also advised that there are many adverse effects of drug use on the physical health of the younger generation. Many types of illegal drugs have damaging effects on organs, such as the liver, lungs, and brain. In addition, it is also not good for health and can destroy the future, drug abuse can also have an impact on families who will be excluded from the local community, even to the emergence of crimes and criminal cases that can harm the surrounding community and someone who uses drugs causes a desire to try, want to look different, lack confidence, eventually become addiction (dependence).
