CCN, Cilegon – On June 5th, the Mayor of Cilegon, Helldy Agustian, officially opened the 22nd MTQ (Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran) 2023 in Cilegon City, which was held in the Jombang District.
MTQ competitions are usually organized at various levels, ranging from local to international. These competitions involve participants of different age groups, including children, teenagers, and adults. They showcase their ability to recite the Quran accurately in terms of tajweed (correct pronunciation) and tartil (beautiful and fluent recitation).
MTQ Cilegon XXII will take place from June 5th to 9th, 2023, in the Jombang District. The event will be participated by 138 contestants competing in 9 different categories, including tilawah, tahfidz, calligraphy, qiroatul kutub, syarhil Quran, fahmil Quran, paper presentation, interpretation, and hadith.
Mayor Helldy Agustian officially opened the MTQ event in Cilegon City by symbolically striking a gong, marking the beginning of the competition.
“In the 22nd MTQ Cilegon 2023, we see it as a historical milestone in our pursuit of achievements. We are determined to improve our position at the Banten MTQ level,” said Helldy Agustian.
One of Helldy Agustian’s main targets is to ensure that the participants sent are native residents of Cilegon, enabling them to compete at the provincial level. “Nothing is impossible for us if we approach it wholeheartedly. Many national-level qori-qori teachers can serve as inspirations for the present generation. The key is a strong intention,” he stated.
Maman Mauludin, the Chairman of LPTQ Cilegon, who also serves as the Regional Secretary, explained that the activities underwent a selection process. He hopes that the participants representing Cilegon can achieve good results and perform well at the provincial level.
“We hope to achieve good results. May our younger representatives from Cilegon excel at the provincial level,” he concluded.
