Jakarta, July 24, 2025 — The Chairman of the Cilegon City Cultural Council, Ayatullah Khumaeni, made a special appearance at a cultural event marking the attempt to break a MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) record for the traditional game Bola Lengeun Sene (commonly known as Boles), organized by the Maung Bodas Martial Arts School at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).
This monumental event made history by bringing together hundreds of participants from various regions to simultaneously play the traditional Sundanese game. Beyond being a record-breaking occasion, the event served as a major platform for promoting the preservation of Indonesian cultural heritage—rich in both educational and historical value.
One of the most memorable moments of the event was when Ayatullah Khumaeni, together with Police Inspector General Dr. H. Fajar Laksana, S.E., CQM., M.M., Ph.D., personally welcomed the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, who attended the event to show his full support for the cultural initiative.
The welcoming ceremony was warm and meaningful, reflecting strong synergy among cultural figures, law enforcement officials, and the central government in advancing local cultural initiatives. In his remarks, Minister Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of community-based cultural preservation and extended his appreciation to all parties involved in making the event a success.
On the same occasion, Ayatullah Khumaeni expressed his pride and deep appreciation for the initiative taken by PS Maung Bodas.
“Traditional games are the inner wealth of a nation. We all have a moral responsibility to preserve them so they remain alive and meaningful in the future,” he stated.
The event culminated with the awarding of a MURI Record Certificate, officially presented by representatives of the Indonesian World Records Museum to the organizing committee—met with enthusiastic applause from participants and spectators alike.
With the presence of many prominent figures, the event is expected to ignite and sustain the spirit of local cultural preservation as a collective force in shaping the character of the Indonesian nation.
