The event was part of the inauguration celebration and featured distinguished speakers discussing important issues related to student art and community service.
The event began with a captivating poetry reading by Ibnu from the Wonk Kite Theater Community, followed by a moving solo vocal performance by Khoirunnisa from Gaksa, creating a vibrant and mesmerizing atmosphere.
Dozens of students and members of the public attended the event, skillfully moderated by Rusnawati. The keynote speaker, Fauzi Albarra, CEO of BCO Media, discussed the future potential of Sebawon and emphasized the importance of individual values within each Sebawon member. Fauzi Albarra expressed, “If we, as members of the arts, possess strong values, we will grow and develop better. Students, especially campus artists, play a crucial role in reintroducing these cultural values to their communities of origin.”
Furthermore, Fauzi Albarra encouraged students to focus on their goals and become experts in their chosen fields. He reminded them that community service is the result of a process that begins during their time on campus.
Prominent cultural advocate from Cilegon, Ahdi Zukhruf Amri, also spoke about the role of student art communities in community development and service. Ahdi Zukhruf Amri stated, “Art has a unique ability to intertwine with daily life, stimulate creativity, and drive social change.” He emphasized the significant role of student art communities in community service, whether through creating community-based art, education, empowerment, or the development of students’ skills and careers.
Within campus art communities, students have the opportunity to learn, practice, and collaborate using the facilities and resources available on campus. Additionally, joining campus art communities provides students with opportunities to expand their networks, gain experience, and participate in various on-campus and off-campus events.
The seminar underscored the vital role of student art communities in art development and community service. Through various artistic activities, student art communities not only provide entertainment but also contribute to education, training, and enhance public awareness and appreciation of the arts.
Chairman of Sebawon, Genta Jamaludin, explained that this seminar is a positive step towards promoting art and personal development among students as agents of change in society. “We hope that events like this will continue to inspire and encourage students to be active in the world of art and community service.”
