CCN, Cilegon. Two government officials of Cilegon City have been implicated in a corruption case related to the construction of Grogol People’s Market. The former head of the Industry and Trade Office, who is currently serving as the Deputy Mayor II of Cilegon, Tb Dikrie Maulawardhana, was arrested by the Cilegon Public Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, May 5, 2023.
The Cilegon Public Prosecutor’s Office has identified three suspects in this case, including two civil servants who are also officials in the Cilegon City Government with initials Tb Dikrie Maulawardhana and BA. The third suspect, with the initials SES, is from the private sector.
Although his subordinates were arrested by the Cilegon Public Prosecutor’s Office on corruption charges, Mayor Helldy confirmed that the case had occurred before he took office. He emphasized the importance of considering the risk of future events in decision-making and stressed the need for the Inspectorate to oversee employee performance to prevent corruption cases from occurring under his administration.
While he could not guarantee that there would be no corruption cases during his administration, Mayor Helldy urged his staff to learn from previous events to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
In the official information, the Investigation Team of Cilegon Prosecutor’s Office has designated and detained 3 SUSPECTS related to alleged corruption in the development of the Grogol District Market in Cilegon City in the 2018 Fiscal Year, namely:
- Mr. TDM as the Head of the Cilegon City Department of Trade and Industry in 2018 and as the Budget User in the development of the Grogol District Market in Cilegon City in the 2018 Fiscal Year, based on the Suspect Designation Letter number: TAP-1417/M.6.15/Fd.1/05/2023 dated May 9, 2023;
- Mr. BA as the Commitment Maker Officer (PPK) in the development of the Grogol District Market in Cilegon City in the 2018 Fiscal Year, based on the Suspect Designation Letter number: TAP-1418/M.6.15/Fd.1/05/2023 dated May 9, 2023;
- Mr. SES as a private party in the development of the Grogol District Market in Cilegon City in the 2018 Fiscal Year, based on the Suspect Designation Letter number: TAP-1419/M.6.15/Fd.1/05/2023 dated May 9, 2023;
The amount of state financial loss based on the investigation results is equal to the disbursed budget amount of Rp966,707,011 (nine hundred sixty-six million seven hundred seven thousand eleven rupiahs).
