CCN, CILEGON – The Community Learning Center (PKBM) Bakti Nusa commitment to developing the potential and skills of the younger generation in Cilegon by organizing a journalism course. The event took place on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Komplek Taman Cilegon Indah (TCI).
In an effort to provide quality training, PKBM Bakti Nusa invited a renowned speaker, Irfan Luthfi, also known as Iffan Gondrong. He is a senior journalist with extensive experience in national media such as Indopos and Banten Pos (Banpos). Currently, Iffan Gondrong serves as the owner and Chief Editor of the digital media outlet, Berita Karya.
Abdur Rohim, the Chairman of PKBM Bakti Nusa, stated that this journalism course is one of the institution’s commitments under the auspices of the Yayasan Nurani Dhuafa Indonesia, aimed at developing the potential and enhancing the skills of the younger generation in Cilegon.
“This journalism course is not the first we have conducted; previously, we also held graphic design courses. This our commitment to developing the potential of the youth in Cilegon so that they can continually sharpen their skills in their desired fields,” he said.
The first batch of the journalism course was attended by 11 limited participants, including students, university students, and the general public. Rohim explained that PKBM Bakti Nusa limited the number of participants to provide better attention and teaching quality.
Rohim also mentioned that PKBM Bakti Nusa will regularly conduct various courses and training programs in different fields. The journalism course will be transformed into a writing school format, ensuring that not only those with a particular interest in journalism can participate. PKBM Bakti Nusa is committed to organizing training in other fields as part of their effort to develop the potential of the community, especially the younger generation.
Zulfahmy Yanuar Adam, the Vice-Chairman of Yayasan Nurani Dhuafa Indonesia and also a mentor for PKBM Bakti Nusa, affirmed his support for community development. He stated that the training activities will continue to be developed, and there are plans to conduct more training programs to explore the potential of the community and enhance their knowledge, particularly among the younger generation.
Zulfahmy, who is also a prospective member of the Banten Provincial Parliament, expressed hope that the activities carried out by PKBM Bakti Nusa will be beneficial to the community, especially the youth in Cilegon. “We hope that such activities can be beneficial to the community, especially the younger generation, in improving their skills and self-competence, so that when they enter the workforce, they will already possess valuable skills,” he stated.
Through the organization of the journalism course and other planned training programs, PKBM Bakti Nusa showcases its commitment to actively contribute to the development of the potential and skills of the younger generation, preparing them for a brighter future.
