CCN. Cilegon, May 25, 2023 – Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), the state electricity company, has implemented the PLN CARE Program by providing assistance to a collective business group (KUBE) called “KULE” Asem Gebog for the improvement of traditional Rabeg cuisine into packaged culinary delights.
Rabeg is a traditional dish that combines the distinctive flavors of the Arabian Peninsula and Banten, made from simple spices and goat meat. It has a savory taste and is not too heavy for those with cholesterol issues, as this Javanese-Serang specialty does not use coconut milk in its preparation.
The event is themed “Enhancing UMK Rabeg, Traditional Cuisine of Banten, into Packaged Rabeg Products.” It commenced with an opening speech by the Chairman of Rabeg Packaging, who passionately explained the process of Rabeg in the region up to the present.
“Kule” means “I” in our local language, abbreviated from “kuliner” (culinary). With the packaging we create, we hope to enhance the quality of traditional Rabeg cuisine. In this program, we have a team that operates every two months, specifically on blessed Fridays,” he said.
PLN Manager, Taufik Rossal Sukma, expressed gratitude for the support provided to this event. “We, from PLN, are thankful for the support given to this initiative. Last month, we received more than 24,000 orders, which is not a small number for achieving a MURI record related to regional cuisine. We will continue this effort and request the support of the local community to always be generous towards us,” he said.
Saptunji M. Si, as the Head of Rawa Arum, enthusiastically encouraged the activities on that day. “Hopefully, because of Rabeg, which is only available in Cilegon, it will continue to prosper. Many people from outside the area have placed orders. I would like to express my gratitude to all parties involved,” he said.
The event was attended by PLN UPT Cilegon Manager, Taufik Rossal Sukma, TJSL Dhini Assistant Manager, Rizky Satya Nugraha Finance and General Affairs Assistant Manager, and ULTG Cilegon Manager, Hundusin. From the government side, it was attended by Lurah, H. Saptunji, and the Head of PPM (Economy and Community Empowerment).
