CCN, Cilegon – Chairman of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of Cilegon City, Isra Mi’raj, wore a scarf featuring the Palestinian flag during the plenary session on Monday (20/11/2023).
The plenary session addressed the Approval of the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) to become a Regional Regulation (Perda) Regarding the Regional Budget (APBD) for the Fiscal Year 2024.
Isra Mi’raj, the Chairman of the DPRD of Cilegon City, was the only council member wearing a scarf with a black and white checkered pattern, along with the distinctive colors of the Palestinian flag.
“Free Palestine, free Palestine,” shouted members of the DPRD of Cilegon during the group photo session.
The plenary session was attended by Mayor of Cilegon Helldy Agustian, Vice Mayor of Cilegon Sanuji Pentamarta, Vice Chairman I of the DPRD of Cilegon Hasbi Sidik, Vice Chairman II of the DPRD of Cilegon Nurrotul Uyun, and other participants.
Before concluding the plenary session, Isra Mi’raj directly led a collective prayer to supplicate for the victims of the violence carried out by Israel against the people of Gaza, Palestine.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please sincerely join in prayer, as more and more Palestinians are losing their lives. It is our duty to pray for fellow Muslims. Al-Fatihah,” stated Isra Mi’raj, followed by the participants and invited guests. (***)
