CCN, Cilegon – The Department of Education and Culture of Cilegon successfully organized a Cultural Arts Recital to commemorate the achievements of the 2023 training program.

This event is a celebration of the success and dedication of cultural arts training participants, held in a vibrant recital with the theme “Demen Budaye Kite” (Our Love for Culture). The event took place on Thursday, November 23, 2023, on the Protocol Road of the Cilegon Mayor’s Office.

Cultural arts, an inseparable part of our ancestral heritage, play a vital role in connecting generations to historical roots and identity as a community. Each enchanting musical rhythm or captivating dance movement can create a profound dialogue that permeates the soul of its audience.

This recital is the result of cultural arts training involving participants from various educational levels. The training covers various art forms, such as the silat martial art of the 3-pillar stance, traditional music, and ubrug art, all with the goal of preserving and developing the cultural heritage.

The event was attended by various stakeholders in the education and cultural field in Cilegon, including the Head of Cilegon Education Office, Head of the Culture Division of the Cilegon City Education and Culture Department, officials from different levels, and Cultural Supervisory Functional Officials of the Cilegon Education and Culture Department, as well as the Head of the Cilegon Culture Center.

In her address, the Head of the Cilegon Education and Culture Department, Heni Anita Susila, expressed pride and appreciation for the participants and all involved in this activity. She explained that this cultural arts recital is not only a significant moment in the development of cultural arts in Cilegon City but also a manifestation of efforts to preserve and develop cultural values within the community.

“Art not only enriches the soul but also has the potential to unite society. By appreciating and understanding the expression of cultural arts, we can build a strong foundation for harmony and tolerance amidst our diversity. Let us continue to explore potential, sharpen creativity, and promote the richness of our cultural arts together. May we all continue to strengthen our communal, national, and state lives,” said Heni Anita Susila.

This recital is tangible evidence that through the cultural arts approach, communities can enrich their souls, strengthen bonds, and build the foundation for harmony and tolerance amid diversity. The hope is that activities like this can continue to be promoted as an investment in shaping a cultured, creative, and enlightened society.

Tini Suswatini, Head of the Culture Division at the Cilegon Education and Culture Department, expressed gratitude to all contributors to this event. She highlighted the high spirit and dedication of the participants in this year’s training and recital. The training not only focused on the technical aspects of art but also encompassed a spirit of togetherness and love for the cultural heritage that needs to be preserved.

“In implementing this year’s cultural arts training, we, at the Culture Center, involved participants in three types of training: the silat martial art of the 3-pillar stance, traditional music, and ubrug art for elementary and junior high school students. We hope to continue cultural arts training activities in the coming years with an even greater number of participants,” added Tini Suswatini.

The number of recital participants consisted of 31 in Silat, 15 in Ubrug, and 26 in Karawitan (traditional Javanese music). The event concluded with enthusiasm and gratitude, with the expectation that similar activities will continue to be held in efforts to preserve and develop cultural arts in Cilegon. (Ahdi)
