CCN, Cilegon, July 13, 2024 – The First Edition of the Cilegon Cultural Week, held at the Aspirations Park of the DPRD Cilegon, was successfully conducted with great enthusiasm and excitement. The event, which took place on July 13, 2024, was attended by many dignitaries, including the Chairman of the DPRD Cilegon, H. Isro Miraj, and representatives from the Cilegon City Education and Culture Office.

The event featured various interesting activities, such as workshops, competitions, and the Ubrug Cilegon performance. In the afternoon, an inter-school competition involving five schools from Cilegon was held with much fanfare. The high enthusiasm of participants and spectators alike highlighted the community’s love for local culture.

In the evening, the event continued with an awards night. Fajrin Alwi, a representative from the Ubrug Cilegon production team, expressed his pride in the success of the event. “We are very grateful and thankful to all parties who supported this event. This is clear evidence that local culture is still highly valued and loved by the community. We hope this event can inspire the younger generation to continue preserving our culture,” said Fajrin.

H. Isro Miraj, the Chairman of the DPRD Cilegon, also expressed his appreciation for the event. “I am very proud to see the community’s enthusiasm, especially among the students, in participating in this Cultural Week. Events like this not only entertain but also educate and strengthen the bonds between residents. We hope this activity can continue to be held regularly,” he said.

H. Isro Miraj also conveyed his hope that the city government can provide adequate facilities to support arts and cultural activities. “We have a dream to build a youth center and art studio in Cilegon, so that artists and cultural communities have a proper place to create and express their talents,” he added.

The evening concluded with performances by various local talents, including poetry reading by Lutfia, vocals by Audrey, and a karate demonstration by Andin and Putri. The Ubrug Cilegon performance featuring the play “Awug-awug” also captivated the audience and provided unforgettable entertainment.

With the Cilegon Cultural Week, it is hoped that local culture will continue to thrive and become an integral part of daily life, especially among the increasingly modern younger generation. (***)
