CCN, Cilegon. In an effort to enhance the quality of families and community involvement, the Department of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning (DP3AP2KB) in the Cilegon organized a two-day Working Group Meeting (Pokja) on September 12-13, 2023, held at the Cilegon Diskominfo Hall.
The event aimed to improve family welfare and community engagement in the Quality Family Village (Kampung Keluarga Berkualitas or KKB) program. This was expressed by the Head of the Population Control and Family Planning Division of Cilegon, Wawan Ikhwani, during an interview on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
In his statement, Wawan Ikhwani expressed gratitude for the presence of the invited guests at the event, emphasizing that their attendance was a significant form of support for the KKB program in the City of Cilegon.
Wawan explained that the KKB program is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing human resource quality through efforts in the population and family planning sector. He underscored the importance of effective collaboration between the government and various community elements in development. According to him, development is not solely the responsibility of the government but involves all elements within our community. Empowering the potential of communities in specific regions is the key to achieving sustainable development.
“As we know, every development effort requires strong collaboration among the government, private sector, and of course, the community. Therefore, I express my thanks once again,” said Wawan.
Wawan Ikhwani also explained that the KKB program was launched by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo, in January 2016. This program has been implemented in all regencies and cities in Indonesia with the goal of improving the quality of life for families through the ‘Bangga Kencana’ program and related sector development. It is part of the effort to realize high-quality small families.
“KKB serves as a platform for community empowerment, especially for families with members from various age groups, such as children, toddlers, teenagers, and the elderly. Through the working group meetings at the KKB event, it is hoped that the knowledge and skills of family members can be enhanced in fostering the growth and development of children, teenagers, and the elderly,” explained Wawan.
The activities of the working group meetings in KKB also aim to facilitate cross-program and cross-sector collaboration for the smooth implementation of the KKB program.
“The success of the KKB program can be seen in the increased frequency and quality of activities such as advocacy and information dissemination, Family Welfare Program (BKB), Child Growth Monitoring Program (BKR), Family-Based Early Childhood Education Program (BKL), Early Childhood Education and Care Program (UPPKA), Integrated Maternal and Child Health Services (IMP) meetings, staff meetings, and more,” he concluded.
This entire process is supported by effective work planning and reporting by KKB working group officers on the KKB website. The goal is to achieve sustainable qualifications in website reporting for KKB, allowing the City of Cilegon to continually enhance the quality of life for its residents.
“This event represents a concrete step by our government in supporting population-focused development, and the hope is that the people of the City of Cilegon will increasingly participate in realizing the vision of the KKB program for higher-quality families,” Wawan expressed his hope.”
