The MENDERMA trash bank builds community awareness so they can care about the waste problem to get direct economic benefits from waste.
Waste banks can also be used as a solution to achieve clean and comfortable settlements for their residents and produce artistic creations that have economic value from this waste.
Yusnawati, the founder of the MENDERMA trash bank said that this activity was a program from the MENDERMA trash bank, namely orphan compensation.
“Because it’s already a program of the MENDERMA trash bank, namely compensation for orphans and poor people every year, we have savings set aside from customer residents who give later also from grants, grants from customers are collected for once a year to hold this compensation event,” said Yusnawati when interviewed.
In this compensation program, Yusnawati also said that there were 50 orphans and poor people who donated. “The target is 50 orphans and poor people, if the target is maybe from the nearest area first, then they will be selected in the next RT, from other RT they will also be invited here,” continued Yusnawati.
Dahlia, as the chief executive of this event, also hopes that the compensation given will not only be for the surrounding environment, “Actually, we want it not only from the dermage malang, yesterday we got Gerem Kulon, Kagungan Baru, Kwista because this is purely from a garbage bank. In the past, the donors were quite large, because previously this was purely from a garbage bank, so there was less stock for gifts,” said Dahlia when interviewed.
This event was also attended by several local community leaders and the Chairman of Gerem, Rahmadi Remidin supported and appreciated this activity, “Of course, appreciation is one of the routine activities. As far as we knows, this garbage bank routinely organizes donations for orphans and poor people every month of Ramadan.” he said.
“These funds may be used from the results of business for one year, so indeed their concept of profits from waste bank activities is used in the form of compensation for orphans and the poor or the poor, of course, this is very much appreciated by the urban village government, very very very very supportive, We prove that today the village administration is also present to accompany the waste bank activities on holidays,” he continued.
