CCN, Cilegon, August 21, 2024- In an effort to enhance the quality of education, the Economics Subject Teachers’ Forum (MGMP) of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) in Cilegon City organized a series of Sustainable Professional Development (PKB) activities starting from August 20, 2024, at the DPRD Cilegon Hall. This event aims to strengthen the competencies of teachers, particularly in the field of economics, to meet national competency standards.

Deden Sudrajat, Chairman of the Economics MGMP of Madrasah Aliyah in Cilegon City, emphasized the importance of this MGMP forum as a platform for teachers to share experiences and knowledge. “MGMP is a collaborative space that allows teachers to enhance their quality through discussions and exchanges of ideas. This is crucial for the development of teacher competencies, especially in an ever-evolving educational era,” he said.

Furthermore, Deden explained that this event involves all economics teachers from both public and private madrasahs in Cilegon City. “The goal is to create equity in teaching abilities and understanding of the material among teachers, which will positively impact the students,” he added.

Mastufah, representing the Provincial Facilitator for Economics in Banten, also appreciated this initiative. She stressed the importance of synergy among teachers through MGMP to improve the quality of learning in madrasahs. “The low results of the 2020 Teacher Competency Assessment (AKG) indicate the need for improvement in pedagogy and professionalism. Through MGMP, we can identify and address these issues together,” said Mastufah.

The five-day PKB Economics MA program not only focuses on improving teaching skills but also on developing innovative Lesson Plans (RPP). The event featured speakers such as the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Cilegon City, H. Amin Hidayat, the Head of Islamic Education, H. Munirudin, the Head of Madrasah Aliyah Supervisors in Cilegon City, Carman, Economics Provincial Facilitators, Mastufah and Hj. Eva Oktavia Ratnaningsih, and Economics District Facilitator, Yeni Tuti Rochaeni.

With this program, it is expected that economics teachers in Cilegon City will be able to apply the knowledge gained to their students, enabling them to compete at the city, provincial, and even national levels. “MGMP is not just a forum, but a movement to improve the quality of economics education in madrasahs,” concluded Deden Sudrajat.

Through collaboration and shared commitment, the Economics MGMP of MA in Cilegon City hopes to continue making tangible contributions to producing competent and competitive young generations. (Ahdi)
