CCN, Cilegon. Regional Executive Board of the National Youth Committee (DPD KNPI) in Cilegon held the Inauguration of the Management for the 2023-2026 period, themed ‘Reinventing the Contemporary Youth Movement of Cilegon.’ The event took place at the Greenotel Hotel in Cilegon, Banten, on Tuesday (June 20, 2023).
Martua Naingolan, the Secretary of the DPD KNPI in Banten Province, officially inaugurated the Cilegon of DPD KNPI for the 2023-2026 period, under the leadership of Ishak Newton, the Chairman of the DPD KNPI in Banten Province.
Rizky Putra Sandika, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the DPD KNPI in Cilegon, stated that today’s inauguration was the result of a congress held at the Royal Krakatau Hotel. The congress replaced the former Chairman, Nazmudin, and was attended by approximately 60 youth organizations in Cilegon through consensus.
“With a lengthy process, we are grateful to be inaugurated by the KNPI in Banten Province. The current leadership of the DPD KNPI in Cilegon is filled with a group of potential student organizations and youth elements, as mandated,” he said.
Looking ahead, Rizki expressed his hope for the government to be present and remain neutral amidst the youth in order to avoid friction within the youth sector.
“If there are still factions that can hinder the empowerment of potential youth, progress may be impeded,” he said.
Regarding the theme we have adopted, Rizki explained that it aims to rediscover the current youth movement in Cilegon while remaining true to the dignity of the KNPI. Historically, according to him, KNPI’s dignity lies in Cipayung, which initially consisted of student groups.
“Alhamdulillah, the entire Cipayung in Cilegon is involved in our KNPI. In the future, we will reactivate the spirit of Cilegon’s youth, as we already have responsibilities towards the Cilegon community. With the inauguration of the KNPI’s youth, we will contribute to the benefit of everyone,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, Martua Naingolan, the Secretary of the DPD KNPI in Banten Province, hopes that the DPD KNPI in Cilegon City can move forward and collaborate effectively, especially with the Cilegon City government.
“I hope that with the inauguration of the DPD KNPI in Cilegon City, it can progress and work together effectively with the Cilegon City government to promote and develop the youth in the city,” he concluded.
