CCN, Cilegon – One of the students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Cilegon, Banten, whose full name is RM Khotbah Efren Malika Ramadhan, commonly known as “Malika,” from the Sports class, has achieved remarkable success at the National level in the Jakarta Open Swimming Championship 2023 held at GBK Aquatic Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, from July 20 to 22, 2023.
Malika has demonstrated exceptional talent and abilities in the sport of swimming at the National level, securing excellent rankings in 5 categories she participated in, namely:
1. 8th place in the 400m freestyle category.
2. 4th place in the 200-meter butterfly category.
3. 4th place in the 50m freestyle category.
4. 4th place in the 50m butterfly category.
5. 3rd place in the 100m butterfly category.
Malika’s achievements are concrete evidence that Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Cilegon has fulfilled one of its missions in producing outstanding athletes, especially in the field of sports, at the local, national, and international levels. Additionally, Malika has also qualified for the second phase of selection to participate in the upcoming National Sports Week (Pekan Olahraga Nasional – PON) scheduled to take place in September.
As the Head of MAN 2 Cilegon, Sumarno expressed his pride in Malika’s accomplishments and the other athletes who are being nurtured by the madrasah. He hopes that these achievements will serve as motivation for other students with potential in sports to strive for excellence and bring honor to MAN 2 Cilegon and the city of Cilegon as a whole.
The school’s authorities, through the sports teacher coordinated by Anton Heri Maulid, are making maximum efforts to prepare the Sports class athletes. They are accommodating the students in boarding facilities and bringing in coaches from various sports associations in cooperation with the program for nurturing talent, under the guidance of Koni Kota Cilegon in the Sports Development sector, to ensure these aspiring athletes can focus on their sports development.
The entire academic community of MAN 2 Kota Cilegon also shares in the pride of Malika’s outstanding achievements. They offer prayers and support to encourage Malika to continue her success and secure victories in the upcoming PON event. There are high hopes that Malika possesses the potential to become a national athlete representing Indonesia in international competitions.
On this occasion, the school’s head conveys his hope that Malika’s remarkable achievements will be a valuable asset and a source of pride for the city of Cilegon. May the support and attention given to the athletes from MAN 2 Cilegon continue to lead to brilliant achievements in both MAN 2 Cilegon and the beloved city of Cilegon.
