CCN, CILEGON. – Tatang Muftadi, Assistant Regional Secretary (Asda) 1 of Cilegon, highly appreciates the Journalist Training Program (KLW) organized by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) in Cilegon on Friday (10/6/2023).
In his statement, Asda 1 of Cilegon emphasized the significant role of journalists as a two-way communication bridge between the government and the public.
According to Tatang Muftadi, the presence of media professionals is crucial in ensuring transparent communication between the government and the public.
“The government’s development goals will not be realized if they are not communicated to the public. The key to successful development lies in public participation, and to enhance that participation, we need excellent communication and journalism,” he said in his opening remarks.
Asda 1 of Cilegon acknowledges that without transparency, the government’s development efforts will not provide maximum benefits to the people. Therefore, the presence of journalists and activities like KLW are considered highly strategic.
Through objective reporting and information presentation, Tatang stated that journalists can be effective connectors between the government and the public.
“Even though the government has established the Information and Communication Department (OPD Kominfo) to bridge communication between the government and the public, the role of journalists remains irreplaceable in ensuring government transparency and accountability,” he added.
The KLW program presented by PWI Cilegon is seen as a positive step in improving journalistic quality and journalists’ understanding of the development in Cilegon. Asda 1 of Cilegon hopes that such activities will continue to strengthen synergy between the government, journalists, and the public.
“We express our gratitude to PWI Cilegon City for initiating this KLW program. Hopefully, with good cooperation, we can collectively create more effective and open communication for the common progress in realizing Cilegon as a New, Modern, and Dignified City,” concluded Tatang Muftadi.”
