CCN, CILEGON – The youth organization Gen Cilegon officially opened its 1st Annual Membership Conference (KANCIL) on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the PGRI Hall of the Cilegon City Department of Education and Culture.
This event marks a pivotal moment in the consolidation and strengthening of Gen Cilegon, a newly established youth organization.
The opening ceremony was held in a solemn and warm atmosphere, attended by the founding initiators, active members, and invited guests from various youth groups, communities, institutions, and government representatives.
In his remarks, Gen Cilegon’s Founding Council member, Rizal Arif Baihaqi, emphasized the crucial role of youth in navigating the uncertainties of today’s world.
“Today is not only the birth of an organization but also proof that the young generation of Cilegon dares to be present, to decide, and to take responsibility for the direction of change in this city,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Conference Chairperson, Ibnu Badru Hasan, expressed his gratitude for the successful organization of the event. He highlighted that this conference is more than just a ceremonial gathering, but a shared space to collaboratively shape the organization’s future.
“This conference marks our first step in proving that the youth of Cilegon are capable of organizing themselves in a healthy, transparent, and accountable manner. From here, we begin uniting our spirit, setting our direction, and affirming the role of youth in the city’s development,” Ibnu stated.
The conference is designed as the organization’s highest decision-making forum, where all members have the opportunity to evaluate programs, draft annual work agendas, establish the organizational structure, and define Gen Cilegon’s strategic direction going forward.
Key strategic issues discussed in the forum include the enhancement of cultural literacy, youth involvement in public policymaking, and the organization’s role in addressing social challenges such as education, the environment, and unemployment.
Carrying the theme “Youth Facing Uncertainty, Creating Change,” the first KANCIL conference is expected to mark the beginning of a more progressive and impactful youth movement in Cilegon.
The event is scheduled to take place over the course of one full day, featuring plenary sessions, commission meetings, leadership elections, and the formulation of strategic organizational recommendations.
