CCN, CILEGON – The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cilegon continues to strive to maintain the safety and comfort of residents in Cilegon by holding regular training and assistance in managing non-natural disasters. It was conveyed by Nikmatullah, Head BPBD of Cilegon, considering that Cilegon is an industrial city that has several chemical factories, management of non-natural disasters must be correct so as not to cause continuous harm. BPBD routinely conducts counseling and training for the community or industrial employees to reduce the impact of non-natural disasters which can be fatal if handled incorrectly.
In addition, BPBD also ensures the preparation of disaster prevention equipment with good quality and can assist officers in dealing with disasters.
Nikmat also appealed to the whole community to take better care of the environment so that natural or non-natural disasters do not occur. For example, dispose of garbage in its place and not carelessly, because when garbage is disposed of carelessly it can cause flooding and other disaster impacts. In this way, it is hoped that the community can participate in protecting the environment and reducing disaster risk.
