CCN, CILEGON – Universitas Al-Khairiyah (UNIVAL) and the School of Tarbiyah Sciences (STIT) held a senate session on Thursday (23/11/2023). The event took place at the Multipurpose Building (GSG) Brigjen K.H. Syam’un Citangkil and was attended by 375 graduates.
Hundreds of graduates from three faculties at Universitas Al-Khairiyah participated in the 2023 Graduation Ceremony. H. Ali Mujahidin, Chairman of the Al-Khairiyah Central Board, expressed his hope that Al-Khairiyah graduates have the mental resilience to face the challenges of the times and, most importantly, to uphold the good name of the alma mater and their families.
“I hope that Al-Khairiyah graduates have the spirit and dedication to worship so that their self-confidence grows, and I hope they continue to explore knowledge and apply virtuous deeds according to the Al-Khairiyah motto,” said H. Mumu in his address on Thursday (23/11/2023).
Meanwhile, Sururul Murtdlo, Chairman of the Committee, mentioned that UNIVAL, which turned three years old on November 23, 2023, now has four faculties, including the Faculty of Islamic Religion with the Family Islamic Law (HKI) and English Language Teaching programs.
“At first, we only had three faculties, but in the third anniversary, we added another faculty,” said Sururul Murtdlo in an interview.
The graduation event was also attended by KH. Mansyur Muhyidin, Chairman of the Al-Khairiyah Consultative Assembly, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Yandri Susanto, Mayor of Cilegon Helldy Agustian, Vice Chairman of the Cilegon City DPRD Hasbi Sidik, Member of the Banten Provincial DPRD Dede Rohana Putra and also Chairman of the IKA Universitas Al-Khairiyah, Representatives of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java and Banten, as well as Representatives of Kopertais Region I Jakarta and Banten and several members of the Al-Khairiyah Central Board.
Rafi’udin, as the Rector of Universitas Al-Khairiyah, delivered a message to the officially graduated students to continue to uphold UNIVAL’s reputation in society.
“My hope for future graduates is to continue to uphold the alma mater, achieve more, and make parents and the campus proud,” said Rafi’udin at the same event.
Furthermore, Mayor of Cilegon Helldy Agustian expressed his seriousness in strengthening the Human Resources (SDM) of the Cilegon community, especially at the tertiary education level. Helldy demonstrated this by providing full scholarships to new students at Universitas Al-Khairiyah residing in the City of Cilegon.
The commencement address for the university graduates was delivered by Deputy Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Yandri Susanto, emphasizing the importance of increasing educational qualifications for the current generation to face global competition.
“With the development of time, the challenges faced by the younger generation are increasingly complex. Global competition has become an inevitable reality, and education is the key to facing it. Therefore, we need to understand how important it is to improve the educational qualifications of our younger generation,” said Deputy Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Yandri Susanto, in his commencement address.
Yandri also added that education is not just a means to obtain a degree or certificate but a vehicle to develop oneself and understand the dynamics of the world.
“In addition, there needs to be an improvement in ‘soft skills’ such as creativity, adaptability, and leadership. This will not only make the younger generation more competent but also more prepared to face the continuous changes in this era of globalization,” he added.
