CCN, Cilegon – Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Kota Cilegon held a mesmerizing theater art performance, involving students from the 12th grade in the end-of-year Cultural Arts subject practical assessment. The event took place in the courtyard of MAN 1 Cilegon with enthusiastic participation from the students and the teaching staff on February 29, 2024.
The Chairperson of the Committee, Rini Septianti, welcomed the audience and expressed gratitude to all parties involved. Presenting the theme “Grounding Through Art, Soaring with the Saints,” narrating the stories of the saints.
The titles of the Art Performance by the 12th-grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Kota Cilegon for the Academic Year 2023/2024 are as follows: XII MIPA 1: Mystery Village, XII MIPA 2: The Journey of Sunan Kudus’s Preaching, XII MIPA 3: Spread of Islam in Cirebon, XII MIPA 4: Raden Syahid, XII IPS 1: Miracles of Raden Paku, XII IPS 2: Sunan Bonang, XII IPS 3: Prahara Amituno Sunan Ampel.
This theater art performance serves as a platform for 12th-grade students to express their thoughts, ideas, and experiences throughout their years of studying at MAN 1 Kota Cilegon. With each scene, they take the audience on an emotional journey that touches the heart.
The arts and culture teacher, Siti Muzzayannah, stated that preparations for this performance have been ongoing for several months and with great dedication. “Congratulations on expressing yourselves and creating something appreciated by the audience and art enthusiasts, presenting something extraordinary for the spectators. Every detail, from the script to the roles, has been meticulously prepared to create an unforgettable experience,” she said.
In terms of acting, the students showcased extraordinary skills, bringing characters to life with passion and honesty. Well-prepared dialogues and strong expressions set the stage alive, captivating the audience in the storyline.
The Head of MAN 1 Kota Cilegon, Hj. Maryati, expressed pride in the reconstruction of the stage by the students despite the overcast weather. “We cannot always control the weather, but the enthusiasm and the beauty of the performance prove that art knows no boundaries. Delving into art is not just a performance but also a reflection of the learning journey and growth of students throughout their time in the madrasah. We are very proud of their dedication and creativity,” she said with a smile.
The 12th-grade theater art performance at MAN 1 Kota Cilegon also succeeded in inspiring the audience with profound messages about the struggles of the saints in spreading Islam in the archipelago.
