CCN, Cilegon, March 25, 2025 – In celebration of its 31st anniversary, Bank Syariah Mu’amalah Banten once again organized its annual social initiative, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan. The event took place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, and was attended by the Presidential Special Staff for Food Security, Mardiono—who is also the bank’s founder and shareholder—as well as the Deputy Mayor of Cilegon, Fajar Hadi Prabowo.

As a demonstration of its commitment to the surrounding community, Bank Syariah Mu’amalah Banten provided financial assistance to 350 orphans and underprivileged individuals, along with distributing aid packages to customers and residents in need. Additionally, the bank allocated zakat funds to support educational institutions, including elementary schools in the Cilegon area.

In an interview, Adib Daenuri, Business Director of Bank Syariah Mu’amalah Banten, emphasized that this social initiative is an annual agenda that continues to be expanded.

“We want to ensure that our presence in Cilegon brings tangible benefits to the community, especially to those in need,” he stated.

Beyond assisting orphans and the underprivileged, Bank Syariah Mu’amalah Banten also conducted a Qur’an endowment program, distributing 10,000 copies of the Qur’an to students, particularly in traditional Islamic boarding schools (pesantren salafiyah) and coastal areas where Qur’ans are still scarce.

Moreover, the bank continues to develop its waqf sawah (rice field endowment) program, where the harvested crops are dedicated to supporting Islamic boarding schools and Qur’an memorization schools (tahfidz).

Looking ahead, Bank Syariah Mu’amalah Banten remains committed to expanding the reach and impact of these social programs to benefit even more people.

“Our hope is that this initiative will continue to grow, both in terms of the number of beneficiaries and the types of assistance provided. We aim to make Ramadan and other significant occasions an opportunity to share joy with the community,” Adib Daenuri concluded.(***)
