CCN, CILEGON – The Cilegon City Government (Pemkot Cilegon), under the leadership of Mayor Robinsar and Deputy Mayor Fajar Hadi Prabowo, has begun distributing one of its flagship programs, the Cilegon Juare Scholarship.
The program, managed by the Welfare Division (Kesra) of the Cilegon City Secretariat, targets outstanding students from Cilegon as well as those from low-income families.
“The Cilegon City Government wants to ensure that high-achieving students from Cilegon have equal opportunities to pursue education at top universities,” said the Head of the Welfare Division, Rahmatullah, during an interview at his office on Friday (14/11/2025).
Two Recipient Categories
Rahmatullah explained that the scholarship is intended for D3 (associate degree) and S1 (undergraduate) students domiciled in Cilegon. There are two categories of recipients: high-achieving students and students from underprivileged families.
“Beyond financial assistance, we want scholarship recipients to become agents of change for Cilegon. They can bring pride to the city through their achievements and contributions,” he said.
IDR 3 Billion Budget, 511 Students Supported
This year, the Cilegon City Government allocated a budget of IDR 3 billion for the Cilegon Juare Scholarship program. From that amount, 511 students have been recorded as recipients and are currently pursuing their studies at 22 partner universities across Indonesia.
Strict and Transparent Selection
Rahmatullah added that the registration process is carried out online through the official website sicerdas.cilegon.go.id.
“This year, registration was open from August 7 to 23, 2025. After that, document verification and selection were conducted based on academic achievement, economic conditions, and administrative completeness,” he explained.
He emphasized that the selection is conducted objectively, transparently, and accurately. Each recipient is required to report their academic progress every semester and maintain their academic performance to remain eligible for assistance.
Collaboration with 22 Partner Campuses
The Cilegon Juare Scholarship collaborates with 22 partner universities, both national and local. These include the University of Indonesia (UI), UGM, ITB, Unpad, UB, IPB, ITS, Untirta, UIN SMH Banten, Unival, Krakatau Polytechnic, and Mangku Wiyata University.
“This collaboration allows students to pursue studies in strategic fields such as engineering, industry, health, education, and maritime studies,” Rahmatullah said.
Mayor’s Expectation
Cilegon Mayor Robinsar hopes that this program will produce young generations who are smart, innovative, and committed to regional development.
“With the improvement of human resource quality, Cilegon will have a generation ready to continue the city’s development toward greater progress,” Robinsar stated.
