CCN, CILEGON — The Cilegon City Cultural Council (DKKC) is inviting the entire community, cultural groups, martial arts practitioners, artists, and MSME actors to join in supporting and enlivening the Golok Day Festival 2025, which will be held on Saturday, 15 November 2025 at the Cilegon Town Square.
DKKC Chairman, Ayatullah Khumaeni, stated that the event, which carries the theme “Cilegon’s Machete for the World,” serves as an honorable stage for the identity of the people of Banten—especially Cilegon, known for its strength, courtesy, and commitment to upholding the values of chivalry.
“The golok is not merely a heirloom weapon, but a symbol of dignity, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of the Banten people. Through the Golok Day Festival 2025, we aim to reaffirm that Cilegon possesses cultural heritage worthy of global recognition,” he said on Friday, 14 November 2025.
He emphasized that Golok Day is not just a ceremonial event, but also a cultural space that strengthens local wisdom and its values.
“Through Golok Day, we want to rekindle that spirit among the younger generation,” he added.
The series of activities for the Golok Day Festival 2025 includes the Pendekar Parade, Golokday Award, Rampak Silat, Pendekar Night, MSME Exhibition, and a Golok Exhibition featuring works by local artisans and masters of traditional arts.
Ayatullah added that he hopes this event will strengthen cross-sector collaboration to revitalize the cultural ecosystem in Cilegon, while also fostering public pride in local cultural heritage.
“We invite all parties—local government, communities, and the public—to participate. Golok Day belongs to all of us; its spirit is shared by everyone,” he said.
DKKC is also committed to promoting Golok Day as part of Cilegon’s sustainable annual cultural agenda, as well as a cultural tourism destination that will attract visitors from beyond the region.
“We invite all residents of Cilegon and its surrounding areas to attend, participate, and make the Golok Day Festival a source of shared pride,” he affirmed.
With the support of all parties, the Golok Day Festival 2025 is expected to become an annual cultural icon capable of elevating Cilegon’s name on both the national and international stage. (***)
