CCN, Cilegon, May 31, 2024** – In an effort to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental cleanliness and the prevention of Dengue Fever (DBD), the Bhabinkamtibmas of Rawaarum Village, along with the Village Head and the Head of Gerogol Health Center, held a Clean Friday event followed by a DBD prevention socialization.
The event took place on Friday, May 31, 2024, starting at 8:00 AM until completion, located in the Keserangan area, Gerogol District, Cilegon City. The activity began with a community clean-up involving all participants. The main goal of this clean-up activity was to reduce potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes that cause DBD.
After the clean-up, the Head of Gerogol Health Center delivered a socialization on DBD prevention. During the socialization, information was provided on effective ways to prevent DBD, including the importance of maintaining a clean environment and eradicating mosquito breeding sites. Additionally, checks were conducted on locations identified as potential mosquito breeding grounds to ensure there were no places for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to breed, which is crucial in minimizing DBD cases in the area.
The event was attended by various parties, including:
– Head of Gerogol Health Center
– Representatives from Gerogol District
– Head of Rawaarum Village
– Bhabinkamtibmas of Rawaarum Village, BRIPKA D. Kusuma
– Health cadres
– Heads of RW and RT
– Local residents
BRIPKA D. Kusuma, as the Bhabinkamtibmas of Rawaarum Village, participated in this activity. He hopes that this activity can have a positive impact on the community in maintaining environmental cleanliness and preventing the spread of DBD.
Hayatun Nufus from the Health Promotion Section of Gerogol Health Center stated that this activity takes place every Friday, rotating in each village. Hayatun also urged residents to always practice clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS). She emphasized that fogging is actually not effective, and that a more effective way to prevent DBD cases is through mutual cooperation and cleaning around one’s own home. This activity is routinely conducted every Friday, involving local residents, RT, RW, and Jumantik (Larvae Monitoring Officer) cadres.
With this activity, it is hoped that the community will become more aware of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness to prevent DBD and be able to implement clean and healthy living behaviors in their daily lives. (***)
