CCN, CILEGON — The Healthy City Forum (Forum Kabupaten/Kota Sehat – FKKS) of Cilegon City is set to implement its Work Programme for the 2026 fiscal year. This was revealed during the FKKS Cilegon City meeting held on Monday (26 January 2026).
Chairperson of FKKS Cilegon City, Abadiah, stated that 2026 represents a crucial momentum to strengthen the roles of both the community and the local government. “This programme aims to enhance cross-sector coordination, increase public participation in environmental health, and realise a competitive and sustainable Cilegon,” she said.
According to her, FKKS Cilegon City has officially established its strategic policy direction for 2026, with a primary focus on improving residents’ quality of life and strengthening regional competitiveness. “This programme is designed to ensure that Cilegon does not only grow as an industrial city, but also excels in environmental health standards and community self-reliance,” she explained.
Abadiah further noted that the 2026 work programme will focus on the implementation of the Nine Healthy City Settings, which encompass various aspects of community life, including:
- Healthy Housing and Facilities: Promoting the Healthy Village Movement in every district and organising cleanliness competitions between urban villages.
- Healthy Transportation: Public awareness campaigns on road safety and the development of disability-friendly pedestrian pathways.
- Healthy Industry and Offices: The presentation of the Cilegon Green Industry Award to environmentally responsible companies.
- Healthy Tourism: Plastic-free tourism campaigns and hygiene training for tourism operators.
- Food Security: Development of Nutrition Villages (Kampung Gizi) and education on stunting prevention.
- Independent Healthy Communities: Strengthening the role of health cadres and implementing the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS).
- Healthy Social Life: Empowerment of vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities, as well as social assistance for orphans.
- Disaster Management: Training for Disaster-Resilient Villages and regular evacuation simulations.
- Sustainable Living: Greening programmes, Adiwiyata (eco-friendly) schools, and monitoring indicators for the Swasti Saba award.
To support physical urban development, FKKS has also prepared a series of programmes to improve infrastructure, including the Healthy and Green Village Programme, which focuses on urban greening and the development of public green open spaces in ten strategic locations. Other initiatives include Sanitation Modernisation, emphasising environmental sanitation assistance and wastewater management to create more liveable settlements, and Inclusive Mobility, involving the construction of pedestrian pathways at three locations to support persons with disabilities and pedestrians.
She added that Cilegon’s progress is also measured by the synergy between the business sector and community welfare. Therefore, FKKS is promoting Industrial Standardisation, Food Self-Sufficiency, and Community Empowerment.
“Through the development of healthy industries and the Cilegon Green Industry Award, the city aims to encourage more environmentally friendly operational standards among companies. In terms of food self-sufficiency, the development of Nutrition Villages in eight locations is intended to strengthen local food resilience while serving as a concrete solution to prevent stunting. Lastly, strengthening the role of health cadres in all urban villages is prioritised to build community independence in managing health,” she elaborated.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairperson I of FKKS Cilegon City, Arifin Al Bantani, stated that the entire series of programmes represents an integrated effort to achieve the Swasti Saba indicators, the highest national award for healthy cities in Indonesia.
By actively involving local government, the business sector, and the wider community, Cilegon is optimistic about realising its vision of a clean, safe, and sustainable city by 2026.
“2026 is a crucial momentum to strengthen collaboration. We want to ensure that every corner of Cilegon City feels the tangible impact of this inclusive health-oriented development,” Arifin emphasised.
FKKS Cilegon City hopes that all stakeholders—from the business community to the general public—will actively participate so that all targets within the nine healthy city settings can be implemented optimally, ultimately realising a clean, comfortable, safe, and healthy Cilegon through strong cross-sector collaboration.
