CCN, CILEGON – The board members of the Cilegon City Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Golkar Party commemorated the party’s 61st anniversary with a pilgrimage to the grave of the late Tubagus Aat Syafaat on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The visit to the grave of the late Tubagus Aat Syafaat — founder of the Golkar Party in Cilegon and former Mayor of Cilegon — marked the opening of a series of events celebrating Golkar’s 61st anniversary.
Representing the family of the late Tubagus Aat Syafaat, Rizki Khairul Ichwan, who also serves as the Chairman of the Cilegon City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), stated that the pilgrimage served as the ceremonial opening for Golkar’s anniversary celebration.
“On behalf of our family, we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the party’s leadership. This pilgrimage has always been included as part of Golkar’s anniversary commemoration,” said Rizki in his remarks.
On this occasion, Rizki emphasized that the pilgrimage is both a tradition and an act of respect toward the late Tubagus Aat Syafaat, the founder of the Golkar Party in Cilegon, who laid the foundation for the party symbolized by the banyan tree.
“He is part of Golkar’s history and also the history of Cilegon City. He laid the foundation for Cilegon’s development vision and the policy direction aimed at the welfare of its people,” he added.
As the grandson of the late Tubagus Aat Syafaat, Rizki expressed hope that the values and lessons passed down by his grandfather — especially that politics should serve as a means of devotion and bring tangible benefits to society — would continue to be upheld by all Golkar Party members in Cilegon.
“The spirit of development that he exemplified must be preserved and reignited in Cilegon. May his spirit of struggle continue to live on and inspire Golkar cadres. We hope Golkar remains a political home that embraces people from all walks of life,” Rizki concluded.
The event was attended by Dr. Tubagus Iman Ariyadi, representative of the Golkar Party Central Executive Board (DPP); Ratu Ati Marliati, Chairperson of the Cilegon Golkar DPD; Robinsar, Mayor of Cilegon; Ratu Amalia Hayani, Member of the Banten Provincial DPRD from the Golkar Faction; along with members of the Cilegon City DPRD from the Golkar Faction and the executive board of the Cilegon Golkar DPD.
