Cilegon, CCN – In commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the government of Rawa Arum Village, in collaboration with Karang Taruna Tunas Arum, held an Independence Day exercise event on Saturday (25/08/24) at the MKU field, Grogol District. The event was lively, especially with the presence of Cilegon Mayor, Helldy Agustian.
In his speech, Helldy shared his views on the real manifestation of independence as experienced by the people of Cilegon today. According to him, during his leadership, the people of Cilegon have been able to feel independence more tangibly through various breakthrough programs he has implemented. Some of these programs include the provision of free LKS (Student Worksheets), free healthcare services using only a KTP (National ID Card), the provision of BPJS Employment insurance for community cadres, as well as full scholarships for undergraduate education. According to Helldy, these programs were not available to the public during previous administrations.
“Previously, parents had to pay for LKS, but now it’s free, which means we are now independent. In the past, could people receive medical treatment using just a KTP? No, but now they can, and all medical treatments are free with just a KTP. For community cadres, we also provide BPJS Employment insurance to ensure protection in case of unforeseen incidents while performing their duties. This means that the people of Cilegon are now truly independent!” said Helldy.
Furthermore, Helldy urged the public to choose future leaders who provide real evidence of independence and avoid those who are dishonest and corrupt. “It’s clear now; during the next election, choose leaders who deliver tangible results, not those who are dishonest and corrupt,” he added.
In addition to Helldy, the event was also attended by the Grogol District Head, the Head of Rawa Arum Village, as well as RT/RW leaders from across Rawa Arum and several community organizations in Rawa Arum Village.
Edi Firmansyah, the Chairperson of Karang Taruna Tunas Arum, in an interview with CCN, expressed his gratitude for the successful and lively execution of this event, despite the relatively short preparation time of only 20 days. Edi also extended his thanks to the organizing team led by Anis Fuad and to all parties who supported the event.
“I would like to thank everyone who supported this Independence Day exercise event, especially the Mayor of Cilegon, the Grogol District Head, the Head of Rawa Arum Village, and several industries that provided support,” said Edi.
Concluding his remarks, Edi expressed his hope that this event, which has been held three times now, can continue to be held annually with even greater success and benefits for the community. (Roni)
