Wasid Foundation, in collaboration with LAZ PLN Indonesia Power Maintenance Business Unit, the Geger Cilegon Festival Committee, and PSHT (Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate) Cilegon Branch, successfully organized a mass circumcision event held at the KH. Wasid Foundation campus. The event, which took place on Sunday, July 7, 2024, was attended by hundreds of children from various areas in Cilegon and its surroundings.
This mass circumcision activity was part of the Geger Cilegon Festival and in commemoration of 1 Muharram 1446 H.
Speaking to CCN media, Committee Chairman Muhaimin expressed that the event received a warm welcome from the community. The purpose of holding the 1 Muharram Mass Circumcision was to become a momentum and an important starting point for the Muslim community. The mass circumcision at this moment symbolized a renewed spirit in welcoming the new year with a commitment to uphold Islamic law, including circumcision, which is an obligation for Muslim men, and to enhance social care and Islamic brotherhood.
“Alhamdulillah, the participants numbered 100 from the KH. Wasid campus and the Cilegon community, including those from outside Cilegon. We started the re-registration process for the mass circumcision participants at 06:00 in the morning, then they gathered on stage before being called for circumcision in the classrooms provided at SDIT KH. Wasid,” he said.
“We hope that by 2025, the number of participants can increase to 200 to 300 children. We also express our gratitude to PT. PLN Indonesia Power Maintenance Business Unit for their outstanding support, and may they continue to thrive, as well as to Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate Cilegon Branch and all those who have assisted,” added Committee Chairman, better known as Kang Mimin.
Chairman of the KH. Wasid 1888 Foundation, H. Asep Sofwatullah, emphasized that this activity reflects the foundation’s social concern for the surrounding community. “Through this activity, we hope that underprivileged children can benefit from this mass circumcision for free. This is a tangible form of our concern to help others,” he explained. “The KH. Wasid 1888 Foundation is proud to be part of this activity and always supports activities that bring benefits to the wider community,” said H. Asep Sofwatullah.
