Cilegon Corner News. November 28th has been declared National Fairy Tale Day. Some regions pay for it in ways that vary in their respective regions. Sunday, November 27th, 2022, Cilegon Fairytale Village Cheer Week in collaboration with DPKD Cilegon and Trans mini Cilegon studio held the commemoration with positive activities from the region for the country, Cilegon Fairy Tale Village held educational performing arts at Transtudio Mini Cilegon, Gd. Transmart Lt. 3Trans Studio Mini.
Some of the activity agenda in this cheerful week; Storytelling in 3 languages (English: Kak Murti, Free Language: Namira Azzarina, Indonesian: Kak Ihan), Gymnastics, 3. Games Ice Breaking, Poetry: Ibnu Faisal Abyan, Child singers: Fayadhia and Queenza, Quiz.
Kak Ihan said that the purpose of holding this National Fairytale Day commemoration was to invite all elements, not only the government but also the community, to read stories to children before going to sleep (storytelling) together. Because stories are the easiest and most effective means of conveying messages. What’s more, stories told at bedtime are the ideal time to instill a message of goodness.
“Hopefully it can be realized in the city of Cilegon where all elements of society are increasingly child-friendly. Not in physical form but psychologically, they receive good input both at home, outside the home, in the world of education and even the government.” Said Kak Ihan who is known as a storyteller with beatbox illustrations and distinctive costumes which are his identity in storytelling.
The storytelling in 3 (three) languages was packaged attractively for the visitors present who incidentally were children and their parents because this year it was specifically held to commemorate National Storytelling Day. Storytelling also has many other benefits, including developing children’s imagination, enriching children’s vocabulary, social and emotional development of children, stimulating children’s interest in reading, improving children’s verbal skills, and learning to sympathize with stories in fairy tales. With the commemoration of this national fairy tale day, it can remind us that Indonesia has a variety of educative and good stories to develop local and national potential through storytelling.
The Mayor of Cilegon’s wife, Hj. Hany Seviatry (Mother of PAUD Cilegon) said that she still remembers when she was little, her parents diligently read story books before going to bed because it could train children to be smarter. During her speech, she interacted with the children to listen to the stories of the children present in carrying out their daily activities, as well as educating them.
“Hopefully the children who attend will be brave and responsible children. If you want to come and play at the Cilegon Regional Library and Archives, please be accompanied by their parents, because children still need guidance,” she said.
This activity was centered by Mother of PAUD Cilegon, Hj. Hany Seviatry, Head of the DPAD (Regional Library and Archives Service) H. Ismatullah and Staffs, Cilegon Transstudio Mini Team, Fairytale Village Team, several school representatives from teachers, students, and parents of students. (Azri)
