CCN, Cilegon, March 30, 2025 – The Gema Takbir Festival at the village level in Rawa Arum, Grogol District, Cilegon City, was once again held in a lively manner on the eve of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. Under the theme “Through the Gema Takbir Festival as an Islamic Da’wah to Shape a Religiously Cultured Generation,” the event was initiated by the Rawa Arum Village Youth Organization, led by Edi Firmansyah. This celebration provided an opportunity for the community to express their joy in welcoming the Day of Victory while upholding Islamic values.
The event was officially opened by the Head of Grogol District, Jajat Sudrajat, and attended by a member of the Cilegon City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Ruaniyah, who is a local resident. And Dedi Cahyadi as Chairman of Committee and The Chairman of the Baiturrahman Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM), H. Husni, also delivered a speech, apologizing for any limitations in the facilities and infrastructure provided for the event.
The festival featured various forms of Islamic arts, including the chanting of takbir combined with Islamic music performances such as rampak bedug, marawis, and nasyid. The Head of the Rawa Arum Youth Organization, Edi Firmansyah, emphasized that the event was not just a celebration but also a platform for educating young generations about Islamic arts. “This is a night of victory after a full month of fasting. We hope that through this event, the younger generation will develop a greater love for Islamic da’wah and remain steadfast in practicing religious teachings,” he stated.
To ensure an objective assessment, the organizing committee appointed a panel of competent judges. The Chief Judge, H. Jupri, explained that participants were evaluated based on several aspects, including vocal quality, recitation accuracy (tajwid), and creativity in performing the takbir.
The Head of Rawa Arum Village, Rahmatullah, expressed his appreciation for the Youth Organization, which has consistently organized this event for three consecutive years. He also highlighted the strong cooperation between the Youth Organization and the village government in maintaining public order, including efforts to prevent youth brawls. “This festival is not merely a competition but also serves as a means of character building for the younger generation, ensuring they uphold both religious and social values,” he remarked.
In addition to the Gema Takbir festival, the Rawa Arum Youth Organization also carried out various social activities during Ramadan, such as providing aid to orphans. This year, they not only distributed financial assistance but also took the orphans shopping for Eid clothes together.
Chief Judge H. Jupri stressed that all participants must adhere to the competition rules. He reminded them to refrain from making any cash offerings (nyawer) during the event to maintain its solemnity and sportsmanship. “We hope that all participants accept the judges’ decisions with an open heart and view this festival as an Islamic da’wah event filled with blessings,” he concluded.
The 2025 Gema Takbir Festival in Rawa Arum Village successfully created a joyful atmosphere, serving as a testament to the strong sense of unity among the community in celebrating the eve of Eid al-Fitr with a deep Islamic spirit. (Ahdi)
