CILEGON — Teater Padma successfully staged a theatrical performance titled Ruwat Urip, which was held in a solemn atmosphere and received an enthusiastic response from the public on Tuesday (30 December 2025) at Kiat Cafe, Purwakarta.
The performance formed part of an ongoing effort to nurture cultural awareness and strengthen local identity through the medium of performing arts.
Ruwat Urip explores themes of the human life journey, spiritual purification, and the relationship between humanity, power, and moral responsibility. Through a symbolic and spiritual approach, the production invited audiences to reflect on the meaning of life while reconnecting with the cultural identity rooted in the city of Cilegon.
The initiator of the project and scriptwriter of Ruwat Urip, Hilal Ramadhan, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the audience’s enthusiasm and the cross-community collaboration involved in the performance.
“I would like to thank the audience for their enthusiasm and the inter-community collaboration, all of whom share the same goal of advancing culture in Cilegon so that the public may better understand our true identity,” Hilal said on Wednesday, 31 December 2025.
He added that Teater Padma remains fully open to future collaborations. “As the Teater Padma community, we always hope that in the future the wider community will collaborate more actively in our upcoming programs,” he stated.
As both coach and director, Hilal Ramadhan also expressed pride in the performers involved in Ruwat Urip. “I am proud of the young performers who showed the courage and confidence to present themselves before the public,” he said.
Artistically, the performance was supported by symbolic stage design, ethnic-inspired musical accompaniment, and lighting arrangements that enhanced its spiritual atmosphere. The actors delivered strong and immersive performances, making the production vivid and emotionally engaging.
