CCN, CILEGON — The Cilegon City Government, through the Cilegon City Disaster Preparedness Cadet Coordination Forum (FK TAGANA), in collaboration with the Disaster Preparedness Group (KSB) and several local volunteers, has established a field public kitchen as part of flood disaster response efforts in Kedalaman Sub-district, Cibeber District, Cilegon City, Banten.

This initiative aims to ensure that the food needs of affected residents, particularly vulnerable communities, are adequately met.

The Head of FK TAGANA Cilegon City, Ade Mufrodi, stated that the public kitchen was set up to assist residents impacted by the flooding. The kitchen provides daily meals for the affected community.

“Naturally, the menu is varied, so as to provide sufficient nutrition and energy for those affected,” Ade Mufrodi told reporters from Bantenxpose.com on Wednesday (14 January 2026).

The operation of the field public kitchen not only ensures that residents’ food needs are fulfilled, but also serves as a symbol of moral support and solidarity for those affected by the disaster.

“We hope that this effort can ease the burden on residents and inspire more parties to contribute to disaster response efforts,” he concluded.

In addition, Srikandi TAGANA (female Disaster Preparedness Cadets) are women volunteers who play a crucial role in disaster management in Indonesia, particularly in the operation of public kitchens.

The following are their key roles in assisting disaster-affected communities:

Public Kitchen Management:

They are responsible for ensuring the availability of ready-to-eat food that is safe, hygienic, and nutritious for evacuees.

Provision of Specific Nutritional Needs:

Srikandi TAGANA often focus on providing special food supplies for vulnerable groups, such as baby porridge, meals for the elderly, and food for pregnant women.

Speed and Accuracy:

In emergency situations, they are required to work swiftly to produce thousands of meal packs each day to ensure that no resident goes hungry.

Psychosocial Support:

Beyond cooking, the presence of Srikandi TAGANA Cilegon City or other female volunteers often brings emotional comfort and a sense of calm to evacuees through direct interaction.

This action represents a form of humanitarian dedication under the auspices of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, through the Social Affairs Office, aimed at strengthening community resilience in the face of disasters.
